This Bramble pattern early golf ball was purchased as part of a collection. It is approximately 120 years old and it is in excellent condition having only light cleeks mark (two dark lines in the original paint). Unlike many balls its age, which usually are missing most of their original paint this ball has 95 % of its original however and has kept its original round shape.Gutta percha, the sap from an Indian Rubber tree, was used to mold golf balls from the year 1850 to approximately 1900. During that time many different patterns were experimented with.This is a very uncommon ball from an unknown manufacturer. Note the red dot at each pole and the markings are very good at both poles.
